Replacement of plugs has to be nearly as simple as replacing bulbs, however it's not. Light bulb replacement doesn't require the use of a gapping or socket wrench tools. An extended socket that fits a plug is not a proper plug socket. A spark plug socket has a couple of things that separate it with a deep socket.
