Assam state is amongst the northeastern Indian states and its capital is Guwahati. Assam tea is known throughout the earth. Assam was beneath the control of Burma in 19th century and after the Anglo-Burmese of the year 1824, it became a portion of British India. Assam is rich in natural resources such as limestone, feldspar, natural gas and quartzite. The deciduous jungles and exotic rainforests make Assam a land of wilderness.
